Now...Light rain and drizzle will continue through this evening across the Washington DC and baltimore metro areas to the central foothills of northern Virginia. The rain was forming as an upper level jet moves across the area and a cold front pushes through the mid atlantic. Accumulations will amount only to a few hundredths inch in general...But locally higher amounts under one tenth inch are possible where the cold front enhances precipitation production. Some communites that likely will be impacted include baltimore... Washington DC...Bwi international airport...Reagan national airport...Charlottesville...Fredericksburg...Warrenton...La plata and madison. The rain will translate eastward slowly as the cold front continues to push across the region and the upper jet moves away.
